Sapa is located in the Lao Cai province in the mountainous region in the far northwest of the Vietnam, almost near the border of China.  Sapa was originally a hill station built by the French in 1922 for summer retreats from Hanoi

Sapa is the home to diverse mountain tribe communities including the H’mong, Tay, Dao and Thai ethnic groups, and visits to the markets and nearby villages of the ethnic tribes are one of the highlights of most trips.

NIGHT TRAIN DEPARTURE FROM HANOI TO SAPA 

20:30: Departure to Lao Cai by night train from Hanoi station.
21:45: Departure to Sapa in air conditioning sleeper.

LAO CAI – SA PA 

06:00: Arrival in Lao Cai station. Departure to Sapa. On the way to Sapa, travelers will have the chance to admire the spectacular moutians of the Hoang Lien Son range and feel the mount and forest covered with mist at dawn.
09:00: Check in and lunch at hotel. In the afternoon, visit Cat Cat village, a small and beautiful village of the H’mong ethnic group and visit the hydroelectricity plant built by the French in 1925. Dinner and overnight in Sapa. In particular, in Saturday nights, travelers can participate in Market of Love of the red Dao ethnic group which is considered one of the finest cultural features of ethnic groups residing in northern Vietnam’s mountainous areas.

SAPA – LAO CAI – HANOI 

After breakfast, visit the television station and local pear and apple gardens, the orchid garden 1 and 2. Lunch. Free at leisure to wander around Sapa market and surrounding villages…

14:00: Back to Lao Cai town. Free at leisure. Dinner in Lao Cai.
19:20: Train departure from Lao Cai to Hanoi.
